Casa Me arrived fresh on the Westport scene in fall 2022 directly from a summer holiday in Italy. The menu and ambiance are inspired by “authentic Italian cooking and bar culture” as well as “Italian vacation foods” that evoke memories and transport you from Westport to Italy.

The menu offers traditional appetizers like arancini, patatine, meats and cheeses, and a bread selection. However, the Roman style pizza and the housemade pasta is where the menu really shines. Guests can order classics like spaghetti pomodoro or bucatini cacio e pepe, or spice it up with a delicious lumaconi alla diavola with spicy san marzano tomatoes, vodka, and whipped marscapone.

The cocktails are phenomenal, featuring a variety of takes on Italian classics like spritzes, negronis, and digestivis. Despite having just recently opened it’s notoriously packed so be sure to make a reservation to transport your taste buds on an Italian vacation.

Gabriele’s of Westport

Gabriele’s Italian Steakhouse features, as its name suggests, the best of both the steakhouse and Italian cuisines. Though the concept is simple by design, savory favorites from each menu style have made Gabriele’s a hit since it first opened its Westport location in January of 2022.

The food is described by locals as decadent, quality, and amazing and enjoyed in a high end atmosphere usually afforded to upscale Manhattan bistros. For starters, diners can’t go wrong with the local oysters, grilled polpo, or ahi tuna tartare. All of their steaks are hand-selected, dry-aged for 28 days, seasoned with sea salt and crushed black pepper, and offered with a variety of sauces when served.

For those more enticed by the Italian selections on the menu, it’s impossible to be disappointed by the savory penne alla vodka with shrimp, pappardelle bolognese, or trenette aragosta (lobster tail with truffle fonduta).

Gabriele’s has solidified itself the perfect cosmopolitan steakhouse experience right in Westport.

Tacombi

One of New York City’s most beloved taco restaurants, Tacombi, is opening a new location in Westport in early 2023. In 2006, the owner of Tacombi purchased a 1963 “combi” bus in Mexico city, carefully drove it through the Yucatan peninsula, and swapped out the transmission and seats for cooking equipment to create a taco stand. Combine taco and combi from this origin story and you get the restaurant’s namesake!

Tacombi offers classic tacos, quesadillas and burritos made with sustainable ingredients free of antibiotics, hormones, genetic modification or artificial additives and preservatives; or as we like to say, tacos you can feel good about eating.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant began a community kitchen that makes and delivers Mexican meals to people in need and they remain committed to fighting food insecurity. We look forward to Tacombi opening its doors in Westport!
